    Make a donation

Every year we help hundreds of older people across Scotland, improving their daily lives through food and friendship.

But we couldn’t do it without you.

Your donations and support enable us to help older people to eat well, age well and live well in their own homes and communities as long as they wish. This has a positive effect on their health and wellbeing through increased social contact.

    Donate in memory

Giving in memory of a loved one is a special and meaningful way to remember them, honour their life and help others at the same time.

However you want to honour your loved one, their legacy will help us support older people to eat well, age well and live well in their own homes for as long as they wish and are able to.

    You can choose to:

    • Make a donation in your loved ones name
    • Collect at a funeral or memorial

Leave a legacy gift in your will

By leaving a gift in your will, you will be helping older people get the help, support and companionship they need to live well at home for longer.

Why pledge a gift in your will?

Food Train depends on the kindness and support of many people. One way you can help us is by leaving a legacy in your will. Legacies are an important part of our income and every gift, whatever the size, helps us provide the services our members need.

The type of gifts you can pledge in your will

    Residuary gifts

A share of, or sometimes all of, an estate after all the other payments have been made.

    Pecuniary gifts

    A specific sum of money.

    Specific gifts

A particular item, such as property, antiques, jewellery and shares.

How to update or make your will

Writing your will need not be complicated. For information on how to leave a gift in your will, take a look at the Remember a Charity website

You will be able to find local solicitors who deal with wills and probate on the Solicitors for Older People Scotland website.

Or you can speak to us in confidence about leaving a legacy to Food Train by calling us on 01387 270800.

    Sponsor a Box

Sponsor a Box is an opportunity for individuals, or organisations, to sponsor one (or more) of our grocery shopping delivery boxes. These boxes are used to transport grocery shopping from the supermarket to an older person’s home, ensuring they get vital fresh food, meals and groceries every week.

Last year Sponsor a Box donations helped Food Train make 60,480 grocery deliveries to older people across Scotland.

Annual sponsorship is just £10 per box.
