Food Train is an award winning charity providing practical support services helping older people to live more independently at home. Established in Dumfries 24 years ago by older people to provide a food access solution to local older people, Food Train is now a thriving charity providing a range of services with around 1100 volunteers who support 2,500 older people across several regions in Scotland.
Food Train is a growing charity seeking new areas of Scotland (and the rest of the UK) to set up support for older people. We continuously consider growth opportunities that meet our aim of supporting older people to eat well, live well and age well.
To help us achieve our objectives we are looking for people who are passionate about supporting older people to live well to join our Board of Directors.
We wish to appoint Directors with knowledge, expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas:
Digital and IT
Health and social care
Although the Director role is non-remunerated, travel expenses will be reimbursed with training provided at no cost. There are 6 meetings per year (including the AGM), 2 of which are held at head office in Dumfries and the others centrally located.
To request an application pack, or for an informal discussion about the role please contact Michelle Carruthers MBE, Chief Executive.
