Food Train is an award winning charity providing practical support services helping older people to live more independently at home. Established in Dumfries in 1995 by older people to provide a food access solution to local older people, Food Train is now a thriving charity providing a range of services with around 900 volunteers supporting around 2,000 older people across Dumfries & Galloway, West Lothian, Stirling, Dundee, Glasgow, Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire.
Food Train is preparing to develop services to new areas of Scotland, continue growing our existing 5 services and consider other growth opportunities that meet our aim of supporting older people to eat well, live well and age well. To help us achieve our objectives we are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our Board of Directors.
We wish to appoint Directors/Trustees with knowledge, expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial management
- Business growth and development
- Third sector marketing and fundraising
- Health and Social Care/Older People
Although the Director/Trustee role is non-remunerated, travel expenses will be reimbursed with training provided at no cost.
To request an application pack, or for an informal discussion about the role please contact Michelle McCrindle, Chief Executive.
