Guid Nychburris 2017

Dumfries members of Food Train Friends enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out in the sunshine at the Guid Nychburris Parade 2017 and were delighted to win 2nd prize in the advertising category too! Thanks as always to Gobert for driving and to our volunteers for helping out on the day and for making the bunting (Aliceann) in Food Train colours.

Intergenerational event at Maxwelltown High School

Our Dumfries Friends members enjoyed a fantastic intergenerational event hosted by Maxwelltown High School in Dumfries on 14 June 2017 to celebrate our Guid Nychburris (Good Neighbours) event with a Tea Party, dancing and games. Our good friends from Summerhill Community Centre joined us to to make it a truly wonderful event. A HUGE well done to the pupils at Max High for their hard work and warm welcome - we will be back!

Esh Charitable Trust make donation to Food Train Friends

Bill McCafferty from the Esh Charitable Trust popped into our Head Office on 1 June in Volunteers' Weeks 2017 to make a donation of £500 to help us purchase equipment for our day activities programme for local older people in D&G. Bill is pictured with Scott and Jane and local volunteers Colin, Mary, Rhianne and Aliceanne who popped in for a chat, a cuppa...and a cake!
