News & Events
Good News! The Stirling branch of Food Train is soon to have a Facebook page. This is currently being developed and will be available to view soon. When it is ready we hope you will 'like' our page and 'share' it with your friends. It might just enable somebody who needs help with their shopping to find out about us. Watch this space!
Have you spare time? Could you give a few hours a week to help older people in your local community?
Thanks to Crerar Hotels, we are now sourcing an additional vehicle which means we can expand our service in the Stirlingshire area and register up to another 100 customers. This is great news but to successfully support 100 additional customers, we desperately need more volunteers to 'come on board' and help us with shopping and deliveries. You would be joining a friendly team to do meaningful work and, you, and any contribution you make, will be valued. If you can help in any way, or want to find out more, contact Fran or Angela at the office on 01786 450536 or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
On Saturday 29th June, Food Train Regional Manager Fran Thow was presented with a cheque for £9000 by Marc Gardner of Crerar Hotels at the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray. Marc is the General Manager for the Loch Fyne Hotel, which is part of the Crerar group of hotels. He recognised and applauded the vital service provided by Food Train volunteers for older people who cannot shop for themselves and commented that he was 'delighted that we were able to contribute to such a fantastic organisation'. He advised that Crerar Hotels donate 50% of their profits each year to local charities in close proximity to any of their establishments. Well done Crerar, Food Train applaud you!
