We are delighted with the success over the past year of the Food Train Library Outreach service available to people who are housebound in West Lothian. A big thank you to all our staff and volunteers who have given your time and effort, we couldn't do it without you! The service is much more than a library service with some relationships blossoming into great friendships.
Thanks to a great idea from one of our volunteers, Food Train West Lothian has managed to raise £630.60 all through tubes of smarties. The idea is that you distribute tubes of smarties and ask people to bring them back filled with small change. Thanks to the generosity of one of our local businessmen, we recieved a donation of smarties to dish out to our supporters. After initially thinking it would only raise around £200, the team are delighted that they've raised four times that amount!
Food Train West Lothian hosted a very successful Pub Quiz last week, Thursday 27th February, raising a total of £600 between the quiz and a raffle also held on the night. Food Train Volunteers and Staff brought in a wide variety of eatables for a buffet table to keep everyone going for the evening. Great fun was had by all and everyone is now looking forward to whenever the next event will be!
We are delighted to say that we have managed to collect over 2700 vouchers in relation to the Wish Campaign via the West Lothian Courier. We would like to thank all our customers and volunteers for this fantastic effort, and will keep you posted on the amount this raises.
