It has been a very busy month in Stirling creating new partnerships and celebrating exisiting ones. Our volunteer students from St. Modans were nominated for an award and we are very proud to have started a new partnership with another very good cause 'Let's make it better, Sunlite Cafe' also based in Stirling.
The Sunlite Cafe supports and trains individuals on their road to recovery from moderate to severe mental health issues, increasing their self confidence and self belief. They offer tranining in healthy eating aswell as teaching people commercial skills. They make delicious cakes, jams and chutneys which we will be offering to our customers, many of whom live alone and do not have access to home made food. We are really excited to be able to offer our customers even more choice and control over what they consume.
We have also been celebrating an exisiting partnership with St.Modans Autism Base. Five students tirelessly volunteer for us over two days a week and they are very valued volunteers. They face additional challenges in volunteering with us so we nominated them for an award as part of this years festival of volunteering. They were nominated for the Inspiring Volunteer of the year 'Young persons award'. We attended the ceremony organised by Stirling Voluntary Enterprise. Although there was no win this time, we were very proud they got through to the finals and we had a great night out. Well done St.Modans!
