Expansion on 'track' for West Lothian

We've been working towards expanding Food Train to benefit older people across Scotland for the last 2 years, these plans are now nearing reality.  Work is underway to develop a Food Train for West Lothian where we hope to begin making grocery deliveries late summer/early autumn.

Food Train Friends

Our new pilot project befriending service gets underway shortly in Annandale & Eskdale, offering a mixture of options to our most isolated members.  We hope to provide regular phone calls, home visits and trips out and about.  Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer befriender can give Jane a call on 01461 206586, even if you only have one hour to spare every now and again you could provide some vital friendship and social contact to older people facing isolation and loneliness.

Celebrating 15 Years

This summer Food Train celebrates its 15th Birthday.  Over the last 15 years Food Train has proved to be a vital lifeline to thousands of older people in Dumfries & Galloway and we'll be celebrating our success with a party and special edition newsletter.  If anyone has any stories from our early days please get in touch with our Dumfries office on 01387 270800.
